4th Annual Veterans Launch and Lunch
Despite the light drizzle, the Silver Lake Association in cooperation with the Warrior House of Western NY, hosted their 4th Annual Veterans Launch and Lunch.
58 veterans and spouses enjoyed a boat ride guided by 11 boat captains and co-captains. SLA volunteers provided loading and exiting assistance as well as supplied desserts for the guests. The Warrior House provided an excellent Dinosaur BBQ lunch.
Many thanks to Sally Capurso and Mary Gavigan from the Silver Lake Association and Susan Zeliff from the Warrior House for continuing this wonderful tradition.

2026 Home Owner of Distinction Award Winners
The Silver Lake Association held its Annual Meeting on August 8th at Epworth Hall. Awards and plaques were handed out including the Homeowner of Distinction Award, given to Bill and Nancy Squier. The plaque was presented by Leslie Kunze, SLA Homeowner of Distinction Chairperson.
2026 "Directory Cover Picture" winner
The directory cover photo winner was Bethany Bauer Bukowinski. Accepting for Bethany was her father Larry Bauer. She was given $50 from the SLA and a $50 gift certificate from the Silver Lake Marine. The award was presented by SLA VP Betsy Kent.
HOMEOWNER'S OF DISTINCTION AWARD 2025
Congratulations to Michelle and Tom Hess and Brad Huber for receiving the Homeowner of Distinction Award for 2025!. This award was established in 1997 to honor those property owners that practice environmentally sound property management. Their properties embrace these practices while bringing beauty to our area. The use of native plants, perennials and annuals, riparian buffers, non-phosphorus fertilizer, composting and, of course, keeping yard debris out of the lake are all part of being a HOD. Thank you to our HOD's for your work to improve and protect Silver Lake!
